Comment by Steve Kosareff on March 20, 2012 at 4:29pm A man's beloved childhood television set doesn't work. Is there an independent dealer left in the country who can fix it? Thus begins a 1,000 journey to find one and in the process discover what happened to the seemingly invincible American television set industry in this documentary feature.
While "TV MAN" specifically looks at the loss of the television set industry in the United States, the film's broader story is about the loss of all domestic manufacturing and its effects on communities and individuals. "TV MAN" is an warm, engaging and humorous story told by the people who lived through the good and bad times of selling and repairing television sets and now face extinction by big box stores.
UPDATE 03/18/12: An angel has been found to fund the fund the edit! The film will now be seen at festivals and by distributors for potential theatrical release. Producer/Director/Writer Steve Kosareff is now seeking additional funds for creating motion graphic sequences in the film. The demo reel and screenplay are available for viewing on the project website, TVMan.tv. For as little as $25 donations via the PayPal link on the website, supporters will receive a "TV MAN" logo
t-shirt and a "thank you" in the end credits.
Please visit the project website via the link above, enjoy viewing the video and reading the screenplay--and make a donation and spread the word.
Thank you for your support.
