I agree completely that so many of us are rediscovering the dreams of our youth and that we have a tremendous opportunity in our 50's and beyond to pursue paths abandoned or delayed while we were raising our families. After "retiring" from a 35 year career with Social Security, I am pursuing my passion for helping people get the most out of their Social Security benefits as an independent consultant and speaker. The process of creating my Social Security for Boomers blog and my own web site Step Up Your Social Security has re-energized me in ways I never imagined just a few months ago. Retirement has taken on a whole new meaning for me now and I love it!

Thanks for the comment, Evelin. Seems like "retirement" is taking on a whole new meaning for boomers. Instead of a long vacation, we are reinventing ourselves and talking about mid-life transitions!
