In my coaching practice, I often hear complaints from job seekers over 50 regarding not being considered for a full time position by a GenXer.“I was fully qualified and it makes no sense” is the most common complaint. “They simply don’t know how to hire” is another one. “They told me that I was over qualified” is a favorite objection. Welcome Boomers-- My short bio


Bio of Randy Block

Randy brings over 35 years of expertise in executive search as a certified career and life coach. Across several industries, he has guided all levels of professionals in the areas of career transition: changing careers, choosing a career direction, changing industries, evaluating/negotiating offers, executive career management, finding the right jobs, as well as finding opportunities for self-employment, freelancing and consulting.

Most recently, he as a specialty in helping executives over the age of 50 secure meaningful work through contract, part time or full time positions.

Before starting his own business, Block served as vice president of a search firm managing a small group of senior recruiters in the high tech industry. Prior to that, he held senior staffing positions with small high tech firms.

He holds a B.S. degree in Marketing and Business from Cornell University. He has successfully completed advanced courses in co-active coaching, coaching ADHD professionals, and career transition coaching and negotiating.

Block is a requested speaker and presenter covering such topics as interviewing, networking, job search, employment trends and the mature worker. He is the author of several published articles. Randy has logged in over 5000 paid hours of successful coaching.
