Karen brings over two decades of legal and entrepreneurial expertise to the position of chief executive officer for Silver Planet. Before joining Silver Planet and MySeniors as general counsel, Karen served as general counsel for Topics Entertainment, the largest privately held consumer software company in the United States. She has over 25 years of legal experience in the corporate and private sectors, focusing on intellectual property, employment law, litigation, and strategic planning.

Karen has a distinguished record of community involvement through her years of service as director on numerous boards, including those of the Washington Women Lawyers, the YWCA, and the Health, Housing, and Human Services Council, where she led fundraising and partnership campaigns for the respective organizations. Karen has been recognized for transforming grassroots sentiments into viable, effective legal organizations to promote justice. She has successfully managed a mayoral campaign and has taught writing, advocacy, and legal classes to university students and professional audiences throughout the country.

Karen holds a BA from the University of Michigan and a JD from Boston University School of Law.

Karen currently serves on the board of the Washington Association of Corporate Counsel and the board of the Whistler Vacation Club, an international timeshare company. In her spare time, she mentors professionals and enjoys biking, skiing, and traveling with her family.
