Life

Christmas Eve - and nature provides the decorations

With everyone snug under the roof here after a weather fraught drive up from Tucson, the cabin is in the usual chaos of family in residence. Six dogs too! and two of them not getting along so a lot of shuffling around and closing doors. Tuesday and Wednesday dumped mega amounts of snow but today the sky is brilliant blue and the snow dazzling - need sunglasses to look out of the windows. When

On Becoming Invisible

I had a taste yesterday of what it is like to be invisible - of what it must be like to be homeless - desperate - a person of no account.I set out with a Subaru Outback packed to the gills with supplies for a week at the cabin. 12 year old grandson and dog traveling with me. Barely 20 miles into the 254 mile trip I noticed smoke coming through the passenger side vent and pulled into a gas

Realistic Resolutions - and Sausage Rolls

Our theme for the January issue of www.connectionsforwomen.com is Realistic Resolutions and I thought I'd get a head start by keeping the holidays simple this year. For the first time in many years it's just going to be family up at the cabin - four adults, two kids and six dogs! one dog apiece per bed. Will be interesting, especially as Samantha the Warrior Woman cat who used to keep the dogs

Thanks too for the nice welcome letter. Right now the south is looking mighty appealing as I sit here in Des Moines looking at the falling snow. Like Sheryl below I am in the thros of understanding how to use Social Media to reach out and connect with others. I have been in the Healing and Performing Arts for many years as a consulting & stage hypnotist (one of the few females in the performing end - go ladies). And not too long ago became a member of a "gift" of a company that has been a blessing to me financially, with self-growth, new friends, and a host of other blessings that I am sharing with others.

Hi Genny,
What a pleasant surprise finding a welcome message my first day with Boomer Authority!
This is a hectic but fun time of year. It will likely take some time for me to establish my page on Boomer Authority. I have a full time day job (Director of Fitness and Lifestyle at a large Sunrise Senior Living Community) while maintaining my own business (Seniors 'N Sync, LLC) in my spare time. You appear to be the official welcoming member! Thanks for reaching out!

Hi Genny, thanks for your welcome. I'm a life coach and am focusing on the boomer years and the specifics of that season of life. I'll be starting some teleclasses, etc. in 2010 so I hope to connect with many others through these sites. I hope to contribute as well as be of help to others navigating the boomer years leading into retirement.

Genny, thanks for your input. I too love Facebook. I have been able to connect with so many friends and family. It's such a great way to find people that you haven't seen in so many years and also a great way to feel connected to all you care about. I especially loving seeing pictures that people post. I will have to check out the connectionsforwomen.com.

Hi Genny,
You can join my social networking site www.snabbo.com and add your site as a Group under whatever category you think it may fall. If you do join, please remember to upload a photo of yourself from "back in the day" as your profile picture. As people begin to mill around the groups they will certainly find you. I would be interested in knowing how your past two years have gone in terms of promoting and membership. I just launched in September. All the Best, Barbara
