It strikes me as I have read the comments recently, that we are forgetting an important segment of the Boomer population. If you feel that Boomers have been neglected by the marketing moguls,…Continue

Comment by Andrew Waite on March 10, 2013 at 10:39am RESCUE YOUR RETIREMENT: "The wealth therapy" industry has stolen billions if not trillions of boomer assets. There is a measured way to win back some or all of your loses by taking a thoughtful approach to investing in non-traded assets. No gold, no paper but secured assets that generate inflation indexed income for as long as you own the asset. What's more you can insure the capital value, and warranty the income! The only contingency is finding good sources and competent managers. The answer is rental real estate, bought on fundamentals, analyzed on Professional Real Estate Investment Standards (GAAP accepted) in appropriate markets. I am the publisher of Personal Real Estate Investor Magazine - the emerging voice for an emerging industry. If rental real estate is good enough for funds like Blackstone, its even better for astute individual investors. Prosperity to you. Andrew Waite.

Comment by Lee Gale Gruen on March 1, 2013 at 8:53pm I just joined this interesting group. My memoir, Adventures with Dad: A Father and Daughter's Journey Through a Senior Acting Class, will be published May 15, 2013. It is about when I attended a senior acting class with my father for 3 years starting when I was 60 and he was 85, our bonding through that experience, and my going on to become a professional actress in my senior years. I speak publically about my book and as an advocate for senior community programs. My website is: AdventuresWithDadTheBook.com
Comment by G. Richard Ambrosius on January 20, 2013 at 2:59pm I have been an evangelist for positive aging for over 35 years. I offer selected clients consultation on strategy, improving communications materials and workshops on sales and marketing to middle age and older consumers. I also deliver keynote addresses on the new consumer majority, customer service and cognitive health and well being.
Comment by Lorie Eber on August 3, 2012 at 11:48am I am a career changer, baby boomer. I make keynote speeches on issues of interest to boomers, including health living, healthy aging and caring for aging parents. I bring a New Yorker's sense of ironic humor to my presentations. I am a Gerontologist and a Certified Personal Trainer. I was a corporate litigator for 23 years in my first life. I blog on boomer issues all the time. My website is http://www.AgingBeatsTheAlternative.com.

Comment by Susan Ross on August 10, 2011 at 11:11am My success as a speaker, facilitator and Mastermind workshop leader is predicated on the concept that speaking, presenting and selling are all platforms for a dialogue vs. a monologue. Ask more questions, make fewer statements is my mantra. Even when I speak "pro-bono" I nearly always leave with at least one paid offer. I know it's because once I connect with a group, showcase my expertise and deliver beyond what I promise at the outset, people want more. It's a great feeling, developed over years (decades!) collecting experience and developing the most effective way to share, inspire and challenge others to master their possibilities. That's what life and business are about for me. What will you master today? I can help! Blue Ocean Coaching & Masterminds.
Comment by Bruce Frankel on July 23, 2011 at 6:28pm FYI - A little delayed, I'm afraid. As many of you may have seen, ABC World News with Diane Sawyer ran pieces all week on a special report titled "The Retirement Revolution." I was filmed for piece that ran Thursday night but I got cut -- quel damage -- for heat wave news. Still, the sound byte remained in online text:
