Would you travel to a foreign country for Health care?

I call it luck - to have experienced Thailand's doctor's and hospitals. Are you aware that even if you are lucky enough to afford "solid" medical insurance, you have a 60% chance of picking up MRSA,…Continue

I'd happily accept healthcare treatment in any European country. My (American) wife and I are considering going to live in Europe because of the high cost, but insignificant quality and service benefit, of US healthcare. Thank God, we have that option because, although I'm a US resident, I'm a UK citizen.

I'm doing a project for my MPA program on workplace age discrimination and baby boomers and I'd like to get feedback from anyone that would like to provide their views about the topic. Whether you have an interest in what's ahead for the baby boomer cohort, have experienced age discrimination or have an opinion about the future for work and baby boomers, I want to hear YOUR opinions on the topic! I'd like to know what you think about where you see the future lies for work and baby boomers. Do you think age discrimination will be on the rise? What do you think might happen to the present laws that protect older workers? What is YOUR organization doing to hire or NOT older workers? I want to hear WHATEVER you have to say about age discrimination and baby boomers!! Tell me what your opinions are!! Hurry! I have limited time to collect your opinions, so I am hoping everyone will have something to say!! Hope to hear from you soon!

Please send all your responses to Babyboomercoach.net@gmail.com
Please include your age, gender, and employment status. If you are employed, it would be great to know if you have embarked on a second, third, fourth....etc career!! All responses are confidential and will NOT be used for any other purpose than specifically stated. Participation is voluntary and there is no compensation other than my gratitude and most likely, your intrinsic fuzzies!
If you have any questions about participation, please email your inquiries to Babyboomercoach.net@gmail.com.

I'm an expat born in Canada (where you never gave a second thought to the availability of health care), lived in Los Angeles for 8 years, then in Mexico, Costa Rica and now in China.

Some of the best health care I've ever received was in L.A. -- but that was because I worked at a university with an excellent school of medicine and had top-of-the-line health insurance that covered the very high costs.

Private health care in Mexico was also excellent and the service was great. I was lucky there as a friend could recommend two good cardiologists and so I didn't have to search for one and risk hitting on a poor one.

In Costa Rica, thank goodness, I didn't need any care but I know that more and more medical tourism is happening there as Americans trust the private clinics which, of course, cost a lot less than at home.

China, thankfully, is not into the medtourism game and this is one country where no one is likely to travel to for any medical treatment.

I'm sure that in the future, I would consider traveling to other countries but everyone should do thorough research on the doctors and the procedures as your recourses are limited should something go wrong.
